1946 La Grande Station in Los Angeles is demolished after service as office space since the transition to LAUPT in 1939.  The Santa Fe Skyway contract air freight service begins operation between the midwest, Texas, and California.

1992 The KCM&O line from San Angelo, Texas, to Presidio, Texas, on the Mexican border is sold to South Orient Railroad Company.  The Fort Worth-Menard track purchased in 1937 is dropped when it starts using a Fort Worth-Sweetwater, Texas, line that is 19 miles shorter.
