1946 La Grande Station in Los Angeles is demolished after service as office space since the transition to LAUPT in 1939.

1953 The original Raton pass line and tunnel is abandoned.

1981 The old COW line between Clinton and Pampa is abandoned.
1991 The old KCM&O line from Maryneal, Texas, to Cherokee, Oklahoma, is sold to the Texas & Oklahoma Railroad.
1992 The KCM&O line from San Angelo, Texas, to Presidio, Texas, on the Mexican border is sold to South Orient Railroad Company.  The Fort Worth-Menard track purchased in 1937 is dropped when it starts using a Fort Worth-Sweetwater, Texas, line that is 19 miles shorter.
